The fact of the matter is that sometime within the next two decades (and probably a lot sooner) world oil production is going to peak and demand will outstrip supply. This is going to result in significant increases in price which will have profound economic implications which nobody has really begun to grapple with. Furthermore, the social implications for the world are going to be gigantic. It is even not an exaggeration to say that the world may not be able to support its current population without access to cheap and easy energy; there will have to be significant deurbanization (we'll need more people to grow food), etc. This is a huge story, in fact, possibly the most important story on the planet today, and it is being missed by almost everybody.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
