The Tories ha...Stelmach is a Harry Strom kindofguy. <BR/><BR/>The Tories have a lot to answer for. Where is the resource windfall? Why has none of it been saved? Why is infrastructure so dismal? Where are the tax cuts promised in the 90's? Why is the bitumen being sent south? Why is the Alberta Government so large (most mandarins per capita)? Why is Stelmach going to let Ottawa include resource revenue in equalization calculations (Klein bitterly opposed that).<BR/><BR/><BR/>I know Ralph Klein's accomplishment is paying off the Getty debt (PC government solving a PC government created problem). But that is not much of an accomplishment when you consider the windfall revenues from the 90's. The only difference between Getty and Klein was $10 oil vs. $40 oil. The spending largesse is still present.<BR/><BR/>It is hard to tell what Stelmach stands for. He has fund-raising ethics issues. He surprisngly lacks an agenda. I suppose after 14 years in government that he has used up his ideas and is now without any vision.<BR/><BR/>Will he reduce the government's dependence on gambling money? Will he continue to approve taxpayer funded abortion? I think the answer to these is yes.<BR/><BR/>He appears to have no expertise or area of focus that he wants to bring to bear. <BR/><BR/>It feels like auto-pilot all over again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
