This is complex stuff and I think such results don't address that complexity. It is not just Ipsos - they all do it.

Nobody who is serious about delving into the public's mind about the preferred leadership qualities and determining what people think are the appropirate skill sets can take such polls and their results seriously.

eric - go to www.policychannel.com at take the oil sands survey. In that survey you will make some hard choices and tradeoffs in deciding what is most important to you around responsible and sustainbale oil sands development.

1400 have already taken it - it take 5-8 minutes and is hard work mking some choies - but stick with it.

That kind of polling tells us more about the value drivers behind the choices and how elastic those values are. we can tell how much it would take to tradeoff some value drivers for others.kenchapmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11384045981190810115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31415271.post-75215033245086259582007-10-29T20:49:00.000-06:002007-10-29T20:49:00.000-06:00Finally a post on federal politics! If you don't ...Finally a post on federal politics! If you don't like the results of a poll, I guess you can only criticize it. I am sure that there were numerous previous posts about polls indicating the liberals were doing well that you wholeheartedly supported.

Having said that, you raise some interesting questions. Maybe the polling questions should delve deeper into the type of leadership Canadians want. I guess the that Dion is having (which he may or may not overcome) is that he is painted as not being a leader at all (not on having a certain type of leadership).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
