Harper Con's Allegations Against Dion Prove To Be False.

Quick update on the Harper Cons attempt to change the channel on their election campaign Ad-Scheme . Jeff Jedras who blogs as a “A BCer in Toronto” has updated his explanation of the Con allegations that Dion "does it too."

Newspaper reports confirm his analysis of the Cons allegations about Dion’s election campaign. Again – for every citizen who cares about democracy and integrity in government - it is worth a read.

Dion's dealing are proven to be totally above board. The diversionary tactics that have become the trademark of the Harper Cons have proven false once again. These tactics are not honest mistakes. They are character flaws in a political party and the people who run it.

A Globe editorial does not definitely prove anything. I believe that Elections Canada should pursue an exhaustive investigation to Dion's movement of funds between his riding and the LPC. Only then will it be "proven". I find it surprising that there has not been a full audit of Dion's books. Dion should have reviewed his own accounting before attempting to smear the CPC. This could really backfire for the so-called leader of the LPC.

  2. To pick on the Dion campaign based on the Blogging Tory post is pure political diversion in an attempt to take attention off the Cons job.

It is entirely appropriate for the Cons to provide what ever evidence they have of any wrong-doing to Elections Canada and as for further investigation.

From what has been reported on and explained as to the Cons allegations on the Dion campaign to date, there is nothing unusual that merits any further investigation.

I would be surprised if Elections Canada does not already do "an exhaustive investigation" into all funding and expense aspects of federal election campaigns.

After all the political parties and candidates get taxpayer's money in rebates for legitimate expenses, money for the number of votes garnered and then there is the sticky issue of ensuring compliance with the legislated spending limits.

Elections Canada is dealing with the Cons Ad-scheme and that is by all indications an exhaustive investigation.

This is not about Dion or Elections Canada – this ad-scheme is about the Conservative Party of Canada and how they conducted themselves in the last election.

    You're full of crap.

They did audit Dion's books. And the ridings. And the party's. And Elections Canada signed-off on them, because everything was perfectly normal.

They audited the books of some 60 or more Con campaigns. And Elections Canada didn't sign off. Because they appeared to be violating election laws. And now the Conservatives are in court, and a judge will decide.

    Next?

Maybe it's not the financing that the liberals should be worried about. Maybe it's Dion's undemocratic tendancies, such as handpicking a candidate in the Quebec byelections rather than having the liberal members vote their candidate in. Shame on Dion - the Quebec voters registered their dissatisfication with Dion's lack of leadership.
