Minister's Biker Girlfriend is Not a Security Risk

Let me get this straight. The Minister of Foreign Affairs (sic) has a girlfriend who was married to a well known and convicted mobster and formerly in a relationship with another who was killed before he got to trial. This is a private matter and “none of our business” and not a security risk according to the Prime Minister.

Our government does not know where 41000 at large deportees are and they presume they left Canada when we rejected them status and because they must be honourable folks.

Now tell me again just who is not a leader?

Politicians who are that naive, lack a modicum of judgment and are self-delusional are not fit to govern.

I am sure the liberals had nothing to do with the 41000 figure - give me a break. You are grasphing at straws.

If what you say is true, why wouldn't Dion bring down the government? Dion is losing credibilty everyday and, as such, the former leadership candidates are licking their chops. Unfortunately, a geek who can't speak English didn't work. Cool figure eh?

  2. I don't think Stockwell Day could be so lax as to let 41K deportees get lost all by himself...but the Cons are the guys who promised to clean up this kind of thing. They are the big law and order guys - right?

Surely they would want to clean this up even if only to ensure Dubya would not get bent out of shape thinking we were letter such people run wild in our country and potentially terrorize America.

What have the Cons done about this in the past 2 years in power other than make the situation worse? That is the question on the minds of Canadians as we look to see if the Cons are worthy of our trust and if they are competent to govern.

This ineptitude does not bode well for Harper's re-election.

lol. so delusional. i guess you choose to ignore polls. apparently canadians like harper's leadership. in fact, Dion polls 4th on the leadership rating. this will of course be highlighted during an election (and harper is a seasoned veteren). good luck, you'll need it.

  4. LOL and delusional indeed. I have watched the polls carefully and with great interest.

How come Harper has not moved up in the polls in over 2 years of having all the power of the Prime Minister's office? He has all the money he needs, plus all the power of the PMO and more political leverage than any other politician in the country AND then there is Dion in 4th place factor.

What is holding Harper back? Why has support for undecided grown more than for Harper? The answer is obvious. It is because of the lack of an alternative. It is not because Harper hs support as the guy to take the country forward. Canadians know it and the Harper Cons know it.

The Harper Cons are afraid of an election now too - otherwise they would have resigned and called one by now.

"The Harper Cons are afraid of an election now too - otherwise they would have resigned and called one by now."

Do even watch politics? Do you understand the passage of legislation? The CPC has passed legislation for fixed elections and thereofre cannot simply "resign".

Why does Harper need to increase in the polls? With a spineless and weak Liberal leader, he can effectively run the country with a minority - there is no need for a majority.

One reason for not increasing is that he has principles and need not say anything to please everyone. That was the Liberal approach and it ended up hurting them (that and the corruption and scandal within the party that only governed for power not principles). With the organization and money, the CPC will handily destroy Dion in the next election. Get ready for another leadership race!

  6. You say the fixed are holding back Harper you - then shouldn't Dion honour that legislation too?

After the sponsorship scandal and corruption, Canadians became aware that Liberal and honour simply do not go together.

  8. Don't you love how the Cons always retreat to the sponsorship scandel when they are caught in their own ethical lapses?

The message is we may be bad but we are not as bad as the Chretien bunch. And that is supposed to be a rationale for screwing up that should give us all a sense of confidence in the Cons capacity to govern? Ancient history boys. Canada has moved on. You Cons are looking trite and incompetant as well as bullying and conniving.

I hear Minister Bernier was recording his biker girlfriend as a "spouse" so he could take her on international junkets on the taxpayers ticket?

Was he doing the bit of form filling deception so he could "sponsor" her on these foreign affairs junkets?

    Say it ain't so Max!

Yes - the corrupt smell of taking liberties with the taxpayer's purse for the sake of libido. How utterly prosaic can this Minister get as he falls flat on his political face?

Time for a Cabinet shuffle Steve!
