Harper's Empathy Deficit

Doesn't this Globe and Mail political cartoon by Gable say everything you need to know about Harper's view of regular Canadians in time of crisis?

Are you that moronic to think that the federal government can control the Canadian economy? If the average Canadian is that dumb, then we deserve a Dion government.

Thankfully the polls show that the Conservatives are still leading and will likely increase their minority.

  2. Anon how does your comment relate to Harper's Empathy Deficit.

The government has levers to infunece and in some ways actually control the economy - otherwise why would Harper be showing off in how he intend to control how Alberta sells it oil and bitumena nd if we will accept nuclear plants - just because he says so?

Are you guys so depressed with the Harper fall from grace and the exposure of what kind of a character and personality he really is - underneath the sweater - that you anonymously feel the need to call people names?

And you now feel free to belittle the "average Canadian" now too. Are you losing it...and the election - and the respect of "average Canadians" in the process?

Are you having difficulty chosing priorities? Isn't it easy? It's OK you will be fine. Just do nothing!

  3. Ken: there is certainly no reason for anyone posting here to be disrespectful, and the poster misses the point.

Harper has been an outstanding manager of the banking and economic areas of our country, and two very well respected International bodies agree, saying that Canada's prospects and economies are #1 in the world. IMF and World Economic Forum.

Add to this more bad news that the Libs have to scurry to spin - from today's National Post:"

"The Canadian economy, defying all predictions, created a record number of new jobs last month, giving Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservatives fresh ammunition Friday to make their case that they are the best stewards of Canada's economy.

Statistics Canada said Friday that, in September, the economy created 107,000 new jobs, defying predictions of economists who were expecting only one-tenth as many new jobs."

Kind of puts Dion and Layton's hysterical blatherings in perspective, does it not?

Do you have any purpose to your life other than to constantly bash one person, with no objectivity?

  5. Sure do...I live to help citizens to become informed, engaged and active participants in a thriving democracy that has honest politicians who want to be elected to serve the public interest and not their own.

What is your reason to exist? To be anonymous?

Maybe he's here to point out the complete lack of objectivity from this blog?

Yes the cartoon does say it all, about whiners, do you want a tissue? Harper understands what's happening to the average Canadian family and he understands what's happening in the rest of the world too. Why? Harper is a "world leader." Time for a Harper majority so he can clean up "Liberal waste ville" and remove the squabblers...

  8. What lack of objectivity? I am suggesting that people vote Liberal in Edmonton Centre, NDP in Edmonton Strathcona, Independent Conservative in Edmonton Sherwood Park and for Conservatives Rajotte and Ambrose...and send the Greens a cheque.

How much more balanced can one Blogger be...besides - when did a Bloggin Tory ever show such objectivity?

Harper is not a solution - he is a problem.
