Stephen Harper Is George Bush and John McCain.

This is a great example of how the Blogosphere is getting active and pushing back at the Harper do nothing leadership.

Such independent video efforts were virtually (sic) unheard of in the 2006 campaign. But boy are they everywhere now...and they are not happy with Harper's lying and indifference to social, environmental and economic concerns.

Don't let Harper's wilful blindness about the American financial crisis impact on Canada.

Your savings, your pensions and your investments are at risk but Harper says there is nothing he will do to protect you.

Stop Steve "Do Nothing" Harper.

    this video is misleading!!

your preference for someone other then Harper aside, i don't at all agree with your characterization and direct comparison of the american and canadian economy.

The canadian economy is not exactly the same as the american economy. american spending is out of control (fighting two wars, selling of bonds/t-bills to foreigners to finance themselves, the fact that they buy 700 billion dollars worth of oil annually).

sure canada's economy will take a dip, just like the rest of the world. look at the european markets. any country that buys and sells products from the US and uses credit will feel the pinch.

plus, canada is a net energy exporter and taxes are low. we're lucky in the west to be tied economically to energy!!!

  2. I agree the video is "misleading" for the reasons you state. It has some truth in it though. More truth than Harpers accusations of a Carbon Tax being all there is to Dion's Green Shift.

Harper has been setting the misleading tone in ads for over two years and well before this campaign started. Some YouTube types are giving him a taste of his own medicine it seems.

If the US economy tanks it will impact Canadians dramatically as that market which is 70% for us nationally states to shrink.

Harper misses the depth and breadth of the Canadian concern as he says he will "Do Nothing." Not very reassuring and what if he is wrong? The consequences to Canadians would be worse. He is proving that he is not worth the risk.

The west being tied to energy is a good thing but Harper wants to interfere with the marketing of Alberta's energy with his policy to impose federal authority on trade over our bitumen exports.

He really stepped in it there and he can expect a real knock-down-and-drag-'em out constitutional fight from what is a political friendly - but very taken for granted Alberta voter and provincial government.

All of these comparisons to great leaders like Bush and McCain will definitely make me switch my vote to Harper.
