I am interested in pragmatic pluralist politics, citizen participation, protecting democracy and exploring a full range of public policy issues from an Albertan perspective.
Nice work - takes me back to the 60s: Kennedy, Trudeau, King and the hootenany. Not a face over 30 in that video, except the main guy. Now us boomers don't have to grow up.
The 60's...yes I even remember them. There is a terrific new Blogger "Straight Outta Edmonton" who is posting the Billboard Top 20hits of 1971 - the year Lougheed took over government.
He is counting down a new tune every day that you can see YouTube video performance (on most). Visit his site...the music is great and so are his posting insights.

Thanks Avi - That set of tunes is the soundtrack of a chunk of my youth.
Ken, Albertans are already being distracted by the non-stop coverage of the US primaries. We keep hearing our election is BORING. Apparently a sick percentage of Canadians would be willing to give up their vote in the next Canadian election to be able to vote in the US one.
The BILLIONS upon billions of dollars being spent on the US elections and the slick selling of the candidates is taking away the spotlight from OUR issues, and the very real discussions that should be taking place here and now. But hey, maybe we can watch a professionally produced commercial for a candidate in another country instead. It is to weep.
As a committed Albertan who is trying to add to the very needed political dialogue in this province, I wonder what the point of this posting was.
NICE Blog :)
ReplyDeleteWe can only wish that we had a leader like that in Alberta or Canada - why do we end up with such duds?

I thought the assertion was "If you can remember the 60's, you weren't there." :)
